Begin to dream biblical level dreams of extreme supernatural signs and wonders
I’m sitting in a onething conference here in the Detroit region and am finding myself provoked to cast the vision for a movement of fire that will invade and impact the cities of the Earth.
This message is for you. I am praying that God hijacks you like he hijacked me when he called me to participate in a company of burning men and women of God who will initiate and facilitate revival.
The call is to wholeheartedly embrace the mission and mandate of releasing the fire of revival to such a high degree that entire cultures are changed. Are you able to see with spiritual eyes a nation that experiences dramatic physical healings very, very easily? More easily than taking a pill.
Can you see cities where the masses are flooding into from all over the world because of tangible power and freedom that invades desperate hearts? What about entire groups of people tormented by fear, anxiety, unbelief…demons…instantly and completely delivered at the exact same time?
This is what I’m talking about. A company of burning ones releasing the fire that will result in such an culture. I am boldly asking God to capture your heart and reveal to you how you can jump in to this extreme lifestyle of fire.
So, how can you participate? Great question! We’ve gone to great lengths to schedule our ministries in such a way that most everybody in the region can participate:
- REVIVAL CHURCH: Those who have connected with Revival Church understand immediately that we are not attempting to be a typical, local church. Our mandate is to function as a regional center of revival for the entire Detroit region. We meet on Sunday evenings, so it’s EASY for most anybody in this area to gather with us as we intentionally go after the manifest presence of God. People from other churches are advancing with us as well each week and we’ve experienced dramatic healings week after week!
- theLab PRAYER EVENTS: God very directly mandated us to gather together 1000 people who will
travel with us every Friday night from 10pm to midnight as we pray in a different church in the Detroit region each week. We intentionally scheduled these fiery prayer events late on Fridays so every pastor, leader and hungry person in the area can participate. There’s rarely a schedule conflict during this time. - theLab INTERNSHIP: The fire of God is raging in our current internship, and I would strongly encourage you to ask God if you are to join with us in the next session which starts on September 3rd, 2011. Even those with busy schedules can usually participate with us. This is a call to consecrate ourselves by diving deep into the burnings of God for three months. The vision is huge…and is manifesting right before our eyes. There is a lot of prophecy surrounding the call to travel to cities with the company of revivalists we’re equipping to release fire. I see massive events, similar to what I’m experiencing here at onething, or the traveling movement of revival that John Kilpatrick is spearheading. Are you interested?

A surge of life has hit a lot of hungry people over the last six weeks. We are in the beginnings of an unprecedented outpouring in Detroit, and the heavy presence of God has arrived at Revival Church and theLab Internship!
We have had remarkable and surprising healings every week for the past six weeks, and often physical healings are landing on people in their homes, at prayer meetings and other times of the week.
Just last night someone in theLab Internship was ready to go to the hospital for kidney issues. I was surprised to see her arrive to theLab class last night…then I heard she had a fire spread through her body and her kidney was healed instantly!
At Revival Church and theLab we are going after a culture of easy and continual healing—and the nations are about to flood to Detroit in search of the Healer.

An offensive church
There’s a way to develop a church that will provide extreme opportunity for offense—and also the promise of great power.
FIRST—the situation in this nation is extremely serious. Pray with us for favor and open doors to get the prophetic message of revival, reformation in the church and city strategies out to the masses. AN OFFENSIVE CHURCH
In a hyper-grace church world, the type of message that I was rocked with on Sunday night might be dismissed or even renounced. Our ministries have become conditioned by the perceived needs and demands of the seekers instead of the demands of scripture for radical surrender. Even when discussing the concept of revival, most believe that it will enhance their churches, while in reality revival brings us back to the cross—and anything in our churches that doesn’t embrace the cross will be crushed.
Revival, when it comes, may actually result in many churches closing down under the pressure of the offensive demands of the cross. Other churches will remain open but lose a lot of lesser committed people. Finances might plummet. Everything will be at risk. If we want God more than we want our churches to grow and our own personal security, then get ready for our paradigms to be violated and calibrated.
At Revival Church Sunday night, God wrecked me.
He said that churches could be birthed and developed from one of three different places:
- The Board Room—In Acts 15 we read about the Jerusalem council. The simple parallel here is that we can meet and discuss how church should be done. Come up with a great plan, follow clear wisdom, appoint leaders and let them run with a plan of action.
- The Upper Room—This one surprised me when God started talking about it. Of course, I love the idea of functioning out of a white hot atmosphere of prayer and prophecy. My book 20 Elements of Revival outlines this in detail. However, it’s true that there’s a certain temptation to participate in a movement that has the hopes of some power encounters, signs and wonders. We can inappropriately focus on the outward explosion while forsaking the true cost of participation. We can have upper room style conferences and churches that gather together the masses, but we’ll have limited impact if we don’t consider the next place that God spoke to me about.
- The Cross—Where two or three are gathered, He is there. This was never more literal than at the cross. The offensive call to full surrender, to the terrible cost of the cross, must sound louder than any other alarm. It’s rare to find churches that emphasize the extreme cost of a life in Christ. The call to the cross is inconvenient, extremely costly and wildly offensive—and few will respond. Many are called, but few are chosen. Our churches must be driven by repentance, by surrender to a fearful call. As we launch our churches with people who refuse to scatter (remember, even devoted disciples ran away from Jesus when confronted with the cross!), and with people who actually sit at the foot of the cross in the face of severe threat to their very lives, it will be a church that cannot be stopped.
STOP TRYING TO GROW HUGE CHURCHES—AND YOU MAY FINALLY GROW A HUGE CHURCH
The point? Start the development of your church, and continue it’s process, from the cross. Raise the bar as high as Jesus did. There’s a false doctrine in the church that rightly emphasizes that Jesus paid the price that we could not pay, but wrongly communicates that we have no part to play in the process.
I’m radically concerned that MANY, MANY people in the church…in really great, Spirit-filled churches, have chosen to avoid the cost of following Jesus, the cost of the cross (Jesus isn’t the only one assigned to a cross—we are as well), the call to deep intimacy, and due to a false grace message are convinced of their salvation when, in fact, they are not saved.
If we build churches around the cross, the crowds will be VERY small. Maybe only a few. Only two were at the cross with Jesus. But, the resulting victory and power will explode the church into the nations.
Then, we’ll move into the upper room, and into the board room as the Church develops in wisdom and power.

I’ll be teaching on the strategic plan for revival in Detroit tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm. We’ll experience some powerful worship, and we are intent on facilitating an atmosphere where we can all go very deep together.
The Fireplace has stirred us, and now it’s time to move to the next place in the process of revival in Detroit.

Disturbed in Detroit : Warning dream
Detroit is on the clock—will revival pass by this desperate city?
I had a dream last night, and as I woke from it I was so shaken that I had a hard time falling back to sleep.
The dream was very short, but it shook me powerfully. I was in a large public area, most probably downtown Detroit, and it was late at night. I wish I could describe the feeling of the atmosphere, but it’s tough. It felt incredibly cinematic—apocalyptic—and everything was dark and colorless.
Suddenly, the most terrifying, threatening and urgent alarm sounded in the streets. It was an air raid siren. People started running everywhere. This next part is a bit crude, but is significant to understand what God was communicating. I personally didn’t feel any urgency at all to respond to the alarm, but I did decide to go into a public bathroom. I didn’t really have to go, but thought it might be good to take care of business in case things did in fact get bad.
I was treating the entire situation in a casual manner. I felt the alarm was false, or at least not as big a deal as everybody was making it. The urgency of alarm should have resulted in immediate action, but I decided to focus on what was commonly necessary, though in reality I didn’t really have to do that. I could have, and should have waited. The situation was more fearful than I realized.
In warning dreams in the past, I have been a representative of the church. The same was true in my dream of being dragged to Hell (documented in my book The Terror of Hell). In last night’s dream, I (the church) was convinced that the alarm wasn’t important and that other demands of life, cares of life, should take precedence.
WILL REVIVAL PASS DETROIT BY?
I have been terribly disturbed over the last month or so at the slow response of the church to the alarm that has been sounded. Significant prophetic warnings and instructions have been given in Detroit, and the response has been casual at best. We simply have to understand that the outpouring and transformation that’s assigned to Detroit will pass us by if we don’t respond en mass! God wanted the Israelites to enter the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses, but instead of experiencing freedom, life, milk and honey, they experienced death in the desert! They were assigned breakthrough, but their lack of response invalidated that assignment.
Now, I must say that there is a very impressive remnant that has been responding in amazing fashion. You all are a blessing!! I’m amazed at your faithfulness and your constant, immediate response!
Brian Simmons recently asked, “If revival in Detroit depended on your prayer life, how close are we?”
The type of fire that was ignited in Dearborn Heights in February was so special and rare, and the instructions were clear and continually communicated that we must gather nightly to steward it. I have to admit, I can’t imagine hearing about a revival fire being lit and treating it casually, and focusing on other typical ‘demands’ of life.
Joel 1:14-15 (ESV) 14 Consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD. 15 Alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is near, and as destruction from the Almighty it comes.
This rare fire should have grown into a revival that would have shaken the entire world if we simply would have gathered. The call was for the pastors of the city (elders) and all of the inhabitants of the land to gather and cry out! Do you realize, we could be in heavy, miraculous outpouring RIGHT NOW if we would have responded rightly!
We have to understand that the fire most probably won’t ignite in our local church. Statistically, with the number of churches in this region, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack if the revival did in fact launch from our own ministry. So, it’s imperative that we keep our eyes open and get ready to commit to serve in the place where the flame is found.
Will revival now pass by Detroit? Well, due to the fact that I received that warning dream, and that a remnant is still sensing the need to pursue revival, my guess is that we still have a chance. However, it’s been said that if Detroit doesn’t respond, God will move his focus to Chicago. We can’t allow that to happen! When is the deadline? Do we have another week? Another month to respond? We can’t risk waiting another minute!
