CoFI Break Video—Ten Threats to Revival Part 6—The Scattering Movement

This is a MUST WATCH video on the uprising of rebellion in the church and how people are fleeing the corporate gathering—all at the cost of revival.

Dell-000050040

Today people are leaving churches and scattering, leaving the church vulnerable and the hope of revival threatened.

When Satan was attempting to gather people together to accomplish an impossible task, the building of a tower to Heaven, God came down and scattered them. Now, Satan is attempting to use that strategy against God!

More than ever, we must honor and serve leaders, be in the church every time the doors are open and pray with out ceasing.

Evan Roberts' famous prescription must be followed today more than ever:

“Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God's promises. Hold daily meetings.”

The time of daily prayer events is coming, and revival will be held back until it happens.

Watch as I share the vision for theFurnace as we contend for revival in the nations of the Earth.

imageThe call is extreme and the church must awaken into it’s end-time mandate for night and day prayer.

Watch as I share about what is needed if Detroit and other cities have any hope for revival and awakening: http://youtu.be/zhjAFhTChVg

Also, read an article I wrote about several threats to revival. What do you think about the status of revival in your region?

What will it take for revival to land? What is standing in the way?

There are over 19,000 cities in America—and none of them are experiencing the biblically normal culture that revival would bring. Something is tragically wrong! Extreme, shocking and potentially offensive reformation is necessary.

To better help you take the pulse of your own life and your own city, I am suggesting some threats to revival. As we eliminate the threats, we’ll be steps closer to an outpouring. Some of what I’m sharing is from my book 20 Elements of Revival and some is from what I’m currently witnessing in my city of Detroit, Michigan.

First, consider this quote by Evan Roberts, the hero of the Welsh Revival, as he shares the simple formula for revival:

“Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God’s promises. Hold daily meetings.”

You’ll notice Evan’s formula for revival is addressed throughout the following points:

TEN THREATS TO REVIVAL

The local church—Yes, I know that’s a provocative statement, and I must state very clearly that I love the church and I love pastors—and honor their amazing devotion. However, the alarm must be sounded. If a regional call to action is muted by the over-saturated, over-protected local church calendar, the necessary strength to both initiate and then support revival on a regional level won’t be there. Additionally, if we allow jealousy, insecurity, offense or other tactics of the enemy to keep us and the people in our churches away from the regionally emphasized mission, revival will most certainly not arrive, and the grace to run our local churches won’t be there. It’s a lose-lose situation. It’s time that we as leaders intentionally monitor closely where the fire is burning in a region—and then cancel our lesser activities so we can lead the people there. We must see the mobile, regional, 24/7 church emerge.

A belief in fate—Many people tend to believe that they have little effect on whether revival breaks out or not. They may say things like, “Nothing will stop God if he wants to pour out in a region,” or “If God wants to bring revival, he will.” A belief in fate minimizes the radical importance of our participation. Additionally, the many prophecies that have been revealing God’s plans for an outpouring in Detroit are conditional. In order to see them come to pass, we must involve ourselves in the process. As Mike Bickle says, “Prophecy isn’t a guarantee, it’s an invitation.”

Taking a “wait and see” approach—Related to the above point, many are sitting back waiting to see if this current outpouring in Detroit is in fact a move of God. The problem? God’s moving is largely dependent on you and me! We have been instructed to tend to the fire, and in our unwitting arrogance we have reassigned that job back to God! We believe God is to do our job of keeping the fire burning when he explicitly requires us to do it. If we don’t build the fire, the fire will go out—even though God’s prophesied plans are to bring the fires of reformation to Detroit.

The scattering movement—We are in the end-times, and it’s clear in scripture that we must gather together even more during this historic season. Satan’s plans to overthrow God were well on track as the greatest movement of unity in history was advancing.  That unity gave strength to the building of a tower that would reach the heavens. God realized the threat and initiated ‘operation scattering’. The language was confused and they scattered all over the Earth. Now, Satan is using God’s own strategy against the most powerful governmental system on the planet—the Church. Instead of gathering in unity that would be strong enough to overthrow Satan’s kingdom, we are being scattered. We are not together. This is why stadiums will be critical in this next season. We must have the city church literally together, in the same place, consistently. Read more about the scattering movement in my article You are Not the Church. Remember, a key element of revival, which is emphasized by Evan Roberts, is daily meetings. Yes, it will be normal for people to be in church, together, under apostolic leadership most every day of the week.

A seeker-sensitive movement—I’ve often told the people in my church that I will never tone down the activity of the Holy Spirit out of respect of those less hungry. We need burning churches that result in people falling to their faces and crying “Holy!” when they walk through the door. It’s arrogance to presume that our human strategies are more potent than the supernatural capabilities of the Holy Spirit. When people are in desperate need they don’t look for Clark Kent, they are don’t want someone who looks just like them to come to their rescue. They need to experience the superpowers of the Burning Holy Spirit.

A lack of intercession—Evan Roberts declared that revival hinges on our obedience to pray and wait. The call in Detroit is for1000 intercessors to gather together in the same place every Friday night as we release fire and cover this great mission. If we don’t respond, we probably don’t want the consuming fire of revival to come. We won’t be prepared for such a fearful burning.

Fear of loss—A key reason pastors don’t advance their churches into the experiential realm of encounter with God is that the risk of losing people, money and their reputation is high. It’s clear that a instituting a marginalized church culture is a much less risky option to develop a growing church in America. However, it’s also clear that  such a culture is void of power and miracles. The world isn’t looking for another man-made system to join. In fact, the world does a much better job of building humanistic kingdoms than the church does. We’ll only see revival when we have the guts to call people into the wilderness of extreme encounter where the Fire and the Cloud leads them into a supercharged adventure. Pastors, let’s be willing to lose people, lose our salaries, lose our reputations, to allow our local churches to close if necessary—for the sake of the advance of the regional, city church! Such a disposition will result in a greater grace on both the local and regional levels.

Unbelief—Evan Roberts reveals one of the elements of revival is simply to believe God’s promises. It’s stunning how little the church believes in the supernatural. Healing, freedom, power and abundant life are tragically rare. Its no wonder that people are avoiding the church today. We are a people who are living on the wrong side of the Ascension. In Acts 1, the disciples were waiting for Jesus to snap his fingers and work more wonders. They wanted him to establish his Kingdom. But Jesus gave them clear instructions that would shock them to their core. They weren’t to wait and hope for something to happen (hope deferred makes the heart sick)—they were to do it themselves! They transitioned from disciples on one side of the Ascension to apostles on the other. Now, they, as ‘sent ones’, were to believe and act. They were to be the answer to people’s impossible situations. They waited for the necessary power to change the world, and when they received the Holy Spirit, they went everywhere in fiery belief healing, delivering and preaching the Kingdom.

Seeking an enhanced life—People generally want God to make their current lives better. They want an enhancement, an upgrade. However, the demands of revival include the willingness to embrace a fire that won’t warm your flesh—it will consume your flesh. Evan Roberts called for people to gather—but not all people—only those who were willing to make a total surrender. Revival doesn’t enhance lives, it crushes them. If we attempt to advance with a semi-surrendered people, the fire simply will not fall.

A lack of immediate response—This is one reason why church schedules must be flexible. It’s also a reason why daily meetings are critical. When prophetic instruction is received, the entire region must know about it right away, and the people must respond. In Joshua 3, the instructions were clear, and everybody responded in unison. There’s no way to fulfill this mighty mission if we are only together one day a week (actually 2 hours a week!). There’s way too much work to be done! As an example, Mike Bickle recently called an urgent meeting. Most of the departments at IHOP in Kansas City were immediately closed and the people all gathered together to receive an urgent prophetic message. In Detroit, we must promote extreme alertness and flexibility so we can respond moment by moment to the demands of regional revival. If we are mostly focused on our local, personal ventures, we’ll stay disconnected from the greater, regional mission. The response won’t be what is necessary and revival will most likely never come.

That’s it. That’s the formula for revival. I break this down in my latest podcast and I talk about the simple need the church can meet as we contend for revival.

If we simply gather together daily to pray, revival will surely break out. Simple. Costly. Yet to be seen.

Listen now to Ten Threats to Revival #8: Unbelief

A spirit of entitlement is false-faith. God is calling us to move ahead boldly as people of great faith!

image You can follow along with my notes here:

  1. Threat 8. Unbelief

1. You can do this! You are called to live a ridiculously supernatural life!!!!!

1. You must believe! Go after the impossible! Be like Noah and live in such a way that causes people to mock!!!! You are called to live a miraculous life!

2. Understand that most people will not believe. In order to be in the mix of the end-time revival, you must believe!!!!! The more we pray, the more we believe!!! The more we hear his word, the more faith! Faith comes by hearing!!!

1. Luke 18:7-8 (ESV) 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

2. Frank Bartleman wrote Evan Roberts and asked him how to launch revival.

1. So, Frank did it and Azusa exploded and changed the face of Christianity!

2. Mike Bickle prophecy: “I will change the understanding and expression of Christianity in the earth in one generation.”

3. So what is Evan Robert’s prescription?

1. “Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God’s promises. Hold daily meetings. ”Evan Roberts

2. Reading this simple yet non-negotiable prescription for revival reveals that the church of this nation is far from ready!

3. Evan Roberts reveals one of the elements of revival is simply to believe God’s promises.

1. In Detroit there’s false belief over this region: Entitlement

1. When people don’t get what they presume they are entitled to, rage ensues.

2. The right to work legislation resulted in violence in Lansing.

4. It’s stunning how little the church believes in the supernatural. Healing, freedom, power and abundant life are tragically rare.

1. 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith.

1. The call of revival is the call to overcome the spirit of this age.

1. It’s a HUGE, HUGE mission, and if we struggle in our belief, we just won’t get it done.

2. We must be Believers, not hopers.

[wdsm_ad id=”6675″ ]

3. Matthew 13:57-58 (ESV) 57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” 58 And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.

1. I experienced this when I was traveling to Detroit… faith was high!

2. Now, who comes with raging, burning expectation of fire every Sunday?

3. If we expect to only have another service, that is what we will get—fire requires fervent, active faith that won’t relent!!!!

1. Most people think faith results in waiting… waiting for God to do something.

2. Not true!!!!! Faith is simply belief that something is to be done!!!

3. We go after it!!!

4. Faith is an action word-when we have it, based on a revelation of who we are in Christ, we rock the world, we work with passion, we burn continually!

1. Start a Tribe!

2. Pray continually!

3. Move! Advance! Do! Go!

1. Mark 9:17-24 (ESV) 17 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. 18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.” 19 And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.” 20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. 21 And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

2. Jesus doesn’t take kindly to lack of faith!

3. Now, get this… the kid was going to die if the father didn’t have faith!!!! This is why he said ‘help my unbelief’… it wasn’t casual!! There was a point of crisis… he had to believe to save his son!!!!

2. Matt 9:20-22 (NIV) 20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
22Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that moment.

1. Faith is an action word! After the revelation comes the action… it takes both to receive what is rightfully ours.

2. It wasn’t only a hope and a prayer… it was a revelation and response.

3. Mark 4:23-25 (ESV) 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. 25 For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

3. 1 Tim 6:12 (NKJV) 12Fight the good fight of faith

1. We don’t wait for things to happen, we cause things to happen!

2. Matt 21:21-22 (NKJV) 21 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. 22“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

3. DO what was DONE to the fig tree. Faith is an action word!

4. Hebrews 6:11-12 (ESV) 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

5. Action!

2. Oh God, I really want a great job in the ministry- I know you’ll come through for me… it will happen as you have divinely designed.

1. Well, have you submitted a resume?

2. Have you studied to show yourself approved?

3. Have you done the work?

5. I believe one of the most critical areas of both crisis and opportunity has to do with identity.

1. A spirit of insignificance- listen to it!

2. Wrong identity absolutely annihilates faith and ministry.

1. It has people hiding from their enemies in caves.

2. It results in taking a casual approach to ministry.

3. It keeps people at home or relaxing when their comrades are on the wall in the church.

1. Check out this report:

1. We had revival (I mean, full-tilt, make Brownsville Toronto and Lakeland look tame) … we were about to ramp it up… and suddenly most of the people who make it all “work” had “other things to do” —I wept.

2. If we believe, we will advance, work and expect… we won’t pull back or be casual.

3. If there’s someone who’s casual in their pursuit, you can know they are having a faith crisis.

2. If we have a wrong understanding of our identity, we tend to participate in the church or in mission so it can make our life better instead of walking in the power of an accurate identity using our lives to make the church better.

3. George Barna- Americans consider survival in the present to be much more significant than eternal security and spiritual possibilities.

6. Faith is what others will see as evidence that God is who we believe he is.

1. Heb 11:1 (NKJV) 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

1. It’s when we tithe before we see the money to pay our bills.

2. It’s when we step into the impossible.

3. It’s when we pray for the sick.

4. It’s when we obey the Word!

2. Action

1. Heb 11:4 (NKJV) 4By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice

2. Heb 11:8 (NKJV) 8By faith Abraham obeyed

3. Heb 11:27 (NKJV) 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

4. Heb 11:29 (NKJV) 29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land

5. Heb 11:30 (NKJV) 30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down

6. Heb 11:32-34 (NKJV) 32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

1. Action!!!

3. A barometer of our position in Christ has to be whether we can hear or not!

1. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

2. This is the only way we can believe!

3. Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

4. The only way to be united with Christ in the pursuit of revival is to hear and believe!

5. Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

6. We can't just wait around in doubt, it's time to move!

7. We MUST believe!

1. Mark 16:14-18 (ESV) 14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

I share about the surprising and historic move of God at Revival Church last night. Undone doesn’t even begin to describe what I’m experiencing.

After a shift at theLab on Friday and Saturday, I released a sharp prophetic message of revival last night that resulted in groans and cries of travail as the people flooded to the altars.

Some comments about this weekend:

“I am sobered by the depth of God's Presence I was engulfed in last night. Selah.”

"Last night, an intense spirit of repentance fell like nothing I've ever experienced before. All I can say is, wake up people of God. Wake up, wake up, wake up!"

“There is so much freedom… so much burden that was lifted off of me that I can not explain it. God is just speaking so clearly now. I believe that everyone that was there tonight will carry that awakening every way they go. Shaking people, shaking their surroundings into an unexpected awakening. This was only one night, like you said, its only the beginning.”

“YESSS LORD! I've been manifesting since…”

“Friday night, i literally felt something snap (i could feel the shift in the spirit).  Inside of me things have been very very different.  It is almost like i am a completely different person.  Personally i am experiencing a shaking i have never felt before and it has not stopped!!”

QUENCHING THE WRONG FIRE

Is the church quenching the fiery darts of the enemy or is it quenching the Holy Spirit?

With all of the darts that are hitting the church in the form of depression, fear, bitterness, unforgiveness, apathy and on and on, you have to know that the wrong fire is being quenched all too often.

Watch the video. Send it to everyone you know. It’s time to gather the church! The time is now for 1000 people to travel with us each Friday night from church to church as we pray in fire!

Here’s my notes from a historic night last night at Revival Church:

imageQuenching the Wrong Fire

I. Come Holy Spirit!

a. I want to make it clear: The Holy Spirit is welcome at Revival Church.

i. He has no restrictions, no boundaries, no limits. His tangible, raging fire must engulf us!

ii. We are going to gain to understand what a MOVE OF GOD is. When God arrives we won’t be able to stop weeping and trembling under his weight!

iii. People will flood these altars! Repentance will spread through the city! Tears will pour through the streets!

iv. The God of the Bible is tragically foreign to the modern church.

v. As long as we are content to live without revival, we will – Leonard Ravenhill

vi. My God! We are content with nice meetings and life as usual!

vii. Evan Roberts "Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God’s promises. Hold daily meetings.”

1. It’s time! Brian Simmons just wrote me and said he sees extended meetings breaking out at Revival Church!!!!!

2. There is a fire that is to consume the church.

3. There is an Elijah level firestorm that has evaded the modern church.

b. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 (ESV) 19 Do not quench the Spirit.

i. The church of America has been quenching the wrong spirit!

ii. We are quenching the wrong fire! The fire of the Holy Spirit was meant to rage!

iii. Ephesians 6:16 (NKJV) 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

iv. We are to quench the fire of the enemy but we’ve chosen instead to quench the fire of the Holy Spirit!

v. Why is the enemy continually assaulting the church? Why is the church depressed, divorcing, sick, bitter?

1. The fire of the enemy is hitting us because the fire of God is not!

2. How do we deal with the fiery darts of the enemy? The same way we experience the fire of God—FAITH!

3. It’s an issue of belief vs. unbelief!

4. OHHH! We must fix the problem of an encounterless, doubt driven religious experience!

5. Biblically signs, wonders and miracles are normal! They are to happen everywhere all the time! What has happened??!

c. Mark 16:17-18 (NIV) 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

1. Today signs, wonders, miracles and healings are special and rare, and we are OK with that!

2. Do we not see that the Bible tells us an evidence of belief is that it’s not rare at all! It’s common! The church is supposed to be such a shock to the culture of the world, a strange company of burning believers!

3. Evan in Wales in 1904: “My mission is first to the churches. When the churches are aroused to their duty, men of the world will be swept into the Kingdom. A whole church on its knees is irresistible.”

4. Show Brownsville video (dropbox)

5. 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

d. 1 Kings 18:20-24 (ESV) 20 So Ahab sent to all the people of Israel and gathered the prophets together at Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word. 22 Then Elijah said to the people, “I, even I only, am left a prophet of the LORD, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men. 23 Let two bulls be given to us, and let them choose one bull for themselves and cut it in pieces and lay it on the wood, but put no fire to it. And I will prepare the other bull and lay it on the wood and put no fire to it. 24 And you call upon the name of your god, and I will call upon the name of the LORD, and the God who answers by fire, he is God.” And all the people answered, “It is well spoken.”

1. The God who answers by fire, he is God!

2. It’s a strong prophetic messenger that will bring an end to this!

3. Declare the word of the Lord! Call down the fire!

e. 2 Kings 1:9-14 (ESV) 9 Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty men with his fifty. He went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him, “O man of God, the king says, ‘Come down.’ ” 10 But Elijah answered the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. 11 Again the king sent to him another captain of fifty men with his fifty. And he answered and said to him, “O man of God, this is the king’s order, ‘Come down quickly!’ ” 12 But Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty. 13 Again the king sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up and came and fell on his knees before Elijah and entreated him, “O man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty servants of yours, be precious in your sight. 14 Behold, fire came down from heaven and consumed the two former captains of fifty men with their fifties, but now let my life be precious in your sight.”

1. We must become experts in fire!

2. The moment we do, people will flood to these altars from every bar, movie theater, mall, school… they will suddenly show up trembling, crying, wrenching in grief, desperate for God as the fire consumes them!

3. There is a message that must start to blow through the church! The religious, inward focused, lazy, sleeping, resistant church is blocking the fire of God that the world is waiting for! Get out of the way! God is coming! Repent! Turn!

f. Joel 2:15-17 (NKJV) 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; 16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. 17 Let the priests, who minister to the LORD, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, "Spare Your people, O LORD, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?' "

1. I’m blowing the trumpet! I’m calling 1000 people to gather on Friday nights! We’re declaring an inconvenient devotion to fire in Detroit! Where are those who are talking about revival? Where are the pastors? Where are the revivalists? Wake up!

2. We were born for this! We weren’t born to simply survive, simply raise a family, simply find a job. We were created for something greater! To burn! To groan! To be fully revived! Now!

3. We were created to return the enemy’s fiery darts with a night and day onslaught of fiery missiles of fierce holy violence!

g. Romans 13:11-12 (NKJV) 11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

1. It’s time! Put on armor you warriors!

2. William Booth “We must wake ourselves up! Or somebody else will take our place, and bear our cross, and thereby rob us of our crown.”

3. Revelation 3:15-19 (NKJV) 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'–and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked– 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

4. Zealous!!!!

h. Romans 13:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

1. People are wrecked by a spirit of strife, mad at other people, derailed because of their disappointment in others, in friends, in bosses, in pastors, in churches. STOP IT AND REPENT! Turn! Burn! Rise up! Put on the LORD Jesus Christ!

2. Detroit is going to Hell while the church argues over who’s most important, who has the best vision, how we’re disappointed, upset, rejected. STOP IT! Jesus didn’t expect people to put him on their throne, he allowed their rejection to put him on a bloody cross so he could set them free! My God! Stop looking for the thrones of man! Take on the cross of rejection!

3. It’s the only way the fiery darts of the enemy can be turned on him!

4. It’s time to stop quenching the fire of the Holy Spirit! It’s time to believe, to sign up for a ridiculous level of commitment to revival, to burn night and day and quench not only the darts of the enemy on our lives, but the fiery darts that have been raining down on Detroit for decades. Revival is coming to Detroit, church!!!!!!!!!!

A wave of revival hit Revival Church : Revival Church moving or switching nights

The thought of having a church service without the manifest glory of God just doesn’t make sense.

imageWe’ve been declaring an atmosphere of signs and wonders, and last night at Revival Church several experienced gold dust. Someone who had it manifest in the children’s ministry just posted on Facebook:

I still have it on me! It comes and goes……its wild!

The packed out church was covered with the fire and glory of God as Catherine Mullins and Matt Sorger released the life of Jesus.

This atmosphere must be stewarded… and the company of burning ones at Revival Church are invested in this magnificent process of fire in Detroit!

HUMILITY AND HOLINESS

I continue to be wrecked by the fear of the Lord. It’s increasing. As the pressures of revival increase we must understand that the only way we’ll stand is if we fall to our knees.

Let’s continue to embrace holiness and humility as we strategically go after God unlike any time in our lives. The times are quite serious and we can’t casually handle the fire.

We have adopted what we consider to be the best advice for launching a full scale revival. Evan Roberts, the great revivalist, said:

"Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God’s promises. Hold daily meetings.”

A COMPANY OF BURNING ONES

We have already assembled the best team of emerging leaders I’ve ever been associated with—but we are just beginning!

The call is to gather the hungry and surrendered and pray. There is a groaning intercession movement that has already started to take Detroit by storm in theLab, and you are invited to join the ranks! Learn more about the strategy to see revival engulf Detroit!

Visit both www.revivallab.com and www.detroitrevivalchurch.com/revivalcompany for info on how to connect in theLab prayer movement and in Revival Church

theLabXPad180x150HOLD DAILY MEETINGS

This is the next step in our strategy, but we need your help! Our host church is starting their own Sunday night service the first of January, which means we have a decision to make.

The ultimate goal is to secure a property that can hold thousands for major prophetic/revival conferences and events along with room for dorms and theLab internship. If you have ideas, I’d love to talk. I can connect you with the team involved in our property search. When we have our own property, we will be able to start developing the 24/7 church. Not only will there be daily meetings, but there will be hourly events around the clock. Imagine continual teaching in one room, non-stop groans of intercession in another and fiery revival services in another!

Since we only have a little over a month for something to happen, it looks like we may end up moving from Sunday night to Saturday night beginning the first week of January, 2012. So, clear your calendars now for this shift!

THELAB INTERNSHIP DEADLINE

If you want to save $200 on the next internship session, you have to register by November 30th! Go here: www.revivallab.com/apply.

Ten Threats to Revival

What will it take for revival to land? What is standing in the way?

imageThere are over 19,000 cities in America—and none of them are experiencing the biblically normal culture that revival would bring.

Believe God's promises. Hold daily meetings.”

The call in Detroit is for 1000 intercessors to gather together in the same place every Friday night as we release fire and cover this great mission.

Spread the word fast : The Fireplace this Friday

The fire of revival has sparked…Brian Simmons, Leonard Jones, Aaron Crider and others will be leading us into the fire of God’s presence starting this weekend!

Here’s the instructions Evan Roberts gave Frank Bartleman that resulted in the Azusa Street Revival:

Congregate the people who are willing to make a total surrender. Pray and wait. Believe God’s promises. Hold daily meetings.

So, we’re doing that here in Detroit starting THIS FRIDAY! Check out the new website for all the info! www.thefireplacedetroit.com See the full schedule below.
