It's critical that we understand the difference between the city church and the departments in the church. These departments are commonly called local churches.
The pressure of revival and also of the great end time drama that is about to unfold is much too great for a local church to withstand. The city church must begin to be emphasized while the local church minimized.
The local church will gain great strength as soon as it discovers its unique identity as a department within the greater city church.

Where are the Leonard Ravenhills and David Wilkersons? Where are the Great Awakening voices that refuse to be silenced by accusations that they are too intense? Video: Burning prayer should be the primary activity of any Believer and of any church. If it’s not, revival cannot be expected.
Threat #6? A lack of intercession.
It's absolutely nonsensical, laughable if it wasn't so tragically disturbing, that we have churches that are full of people who don't burn hot in the place of prayer. The church by definition is a house of prayer for all nations. It's not a house of teaching or a house of relationships. It's first and foremost a house of prayer.
This means we should see every person contending continually as burning intercessors who live and walk and pray in the Spirit.
Revival cannot break out and be maintained without a solid foundation of prayer. Revival will be restoring prayer back to the main thing in our churches and in our cities.

CoFI Break—A Desperate Call
Why isn’t every Spirit-filled Christian craving to gather to pray in the fire every day?
A DESPERATE CALL
This is a raw, unprepared message from my heart about the desperation in my spirit for an awakening in the church.
It's saddens me that so many excuses are immediately raised at the point where the call to prayer is sounded. I'm not seeing the passion for continual, never ending intercession in most circles, and there must be a shaking come to the church.
If we don't have time to gather to pray every day we are probably doing something God doesn't want us to do. It's time to cancel most of what makes up our daily lives and pray with a passion strong enough to launch revival in the land.
This is your hour to awaken and burn with a passion for Jesus that will shock your culture!
The apathy, sleepiness and casual responses to today's urgent alarms must cease immediately.
It's time to wake up, strengthen what remains and is about to die!

1. When you don't fit in.
2. When it's easier for you to connect with God elsewhere.
3. The leaders aren't doing things the way most people think they should.
4. When another church has better programs for you and your family.
5. When God tells you to.

Unity around the mission of the church is something Satan cannot risk. The moment people lock arms, take their positions and unify with the Great Commission in front of them, it's over. He's done.
A spirit of independence is convincing Christians that it's time to take control of their lives and forsake the call to gather under leaders within the structure of the church. We must repent, and we must return to position and get ready to move as the alarm sounds.
This teaching is definitely a hot topic and sure to result in a variety of reactions. It is based on a Charisma Magazine article by John that was released today.
